I also got in touch with A.J. ‘Fonz’ van Werven via the mailinglist and apparently he’s also working on an IRIX theme, so there’s a lot of stuff to look forward to now.

[Edit2:] About the usage - I found Interactive Desktop User Interface Guidelines for Irix 6.5 but for Irix 3.x … it is too old … the default window manager was 4Sight and for this wm you’ll find only pictures (which would be enough to creating the theme) but no documentation …

I’ve found another site where the Irix 3.3 Toolchest is described. It’s in German but the interessting parts are in English. Here’s the link. 8)
