Strange font issue

When I start fvwm all is fine except that the font is large and bold for all my applications. Even mrxvt where I specify the font in the .rc file has a large font. However I also run the gnome-panel (which has large bold fonts) and run the gnome font config application and then exit and then all the fonts are back to normal size, etc…

Any suggestions?

start gnome-settings-daemon when you log in.

Well the same problem happens regardless if I run gnome-panel or not. Also I ran gnome-session instead of fvwm and saved the session/properties and then restarted fvwm and still had the same issue?
