Cannot iconify windows in fvwm2

I cannot minimize windows in fvwm 2.5.9. The windows that appear (i.e. xterm or emacs) do not have the little “-” pictures in the corner which one normally clicks to minimize the window.

Do I have to configure the fvwm in some way to make this happen?

Buttons only appear in the titlebar, if you have a mouse binding assigned to them. E.g.:

Mouse 1 1 A Iconify
