Changes concerning Focus between 2.6.5 and 2.6.6?

Hello,

we use fvwm2 for users to get acces to an application. This worked a long time.
but now, we switch our distro from openSUSE 12.3 (which uses 2.6.4) to Leap 42.3 (which uses 2.6.7).
One window can’t get the keyboard focus properly. The mouse focus is OK. But keyboard focus is only OK if I press STRG + TAB before.

So, I tested several fvwm versions. There must be a change concerning the focus between 2.6.5 (there, the focus is still working) and 2.6.6 (focus is only working for the mouse).

There is only one setting in the config which contains the word “focus”:

AddToFunc RaiseAndFocusAndWarp

  • I Raise
  • I Focus
  • I WarpToWindow 50 5p

The function “RaiseAndFocusAndWarp” seems not to be used anywhere.

Any Ideas here?
Or hints how to figure out the problem?

What focus policy are you using? It may also help if you are unsure to share your config file.

Do you know what kinda of window is causing problems, does it happen to be a java app?

Anyways, not knowing the app, maybe look into the Lenience style. It helps with programs that have trouble taking keyboard focus.
