I was trying to use FvwmAnimate when I realized I had no idea what I was doing. I read the FvwmAnimate man page but that didn’t seem to help me much. I started FvwmAnimate and when I iconify a window, it is “animated” but really all it does is show some lines going from the window going to it’s icon. I’m wondering are these lines all that I can do with FvwmAnimate or can I get some really cool effects ala Mac OS X or Windows Vista (Longhorn). Thanks in advance for your help.

You can get random effects, and define a pixmap to use for xorring the animation effects. Iirc, you can even define if it is xorred or something else.
But if you mean something like mac os x “genie in a bottle” -effect, then no; you can’t get stuff like that with fvwm at the moment.

Well, you can set "XorValue [number] " which will affect only slightly how the lines are rendered.

Well, the effects one can have from FvwmAnimate are quite a lot – enough for me, at any rate.
