FvwmWiki - New and Improved

I have updated the FvwmWiki

http://fvwmforums.org/wiki/

I am trying to make it a collection of info about Configuring Fvwm, along with example configurations. I even made it colorful with syntax highlighting of the Fvwm config format.

Feel free to let me know of anything you notice about the FvwmWiki. If you would like to contribute you can find the code on github.

Also if you know of any forum posts that would make a good page, you can share them here and I’ll see about adding them.

Is this GitHub fvwmwiki still active? I created a fork having a look at the Jekyll markup language. Looks good and is easy to use. Would be nice to add practical and helpful samples to Fvwm Wiki if this GitHub is the one.

The wiki is now part of the fvwm.org website, similar structure, it is just no longer a separate project. (note the main page of the wiki even states this, FvwmWiki)

There are even some instructions for how the wiki is setup.

If anyone is interested in contributing to FvwmWiki but not familiar with Git commands. Here are some basic guidelines:

  1. Create a new branch. For example: “wiki-fvwm”.
  2. On your local machine, add new or edit a file. For example: “index.md”.

Terminal:

cd ~/<your github>/fvwmorg.github.io
git switch wiki-fvwm
git add index.md
git commit -m "commit message with quote marks"
git push origin wiki-fvwm --force
Username:
Password:

To squash two commits:

git rebase -i HEAD~2

pick 1f63e8e New layout
pick 230b3bc Minor correction

Replace pick (at the bottom) with squash. And save and exit.

pick 1f63e8e New layout
squash 230b3bc Minor correction

Git push

git push origin wiki-fvwm --force

Take a look at the wiki improvements and also to-do list.
