I’m trying to configure my laptop for maximum battery life. I’ve probably done most of it and am down to minor bits of fine tuning. Up till now, I’ve used feh to set a background wallpaper, but I was wondering if it would make any difference if I used fvwm-root? Maybe not enough to be bothered about?
Normally not. I’ve switched from fvwm-root to feh some times ago and I don’t see any increasing of power consumtion on my laptop. Also if you’re using jpeg wallpapers fvwm-root cannot be used. Only XBM, XPM, PNG and SVG are supported.
