SOLVED: Missing system settings icons after upgrade to ubuntu 16.04

I’ve just upgraded from ubuntu 14.04 to ubuntu 16.04. Previously, the command gnome-control-center would return a GUI with a big list of icons to control sound, mouse, etc. After the upgrade, I only see a very small list of icons, as shown in the post below: (I don’t know how to post images on this forum!)

askubuntu.com/questions/841022/m … g-to-16-04

Also, when I open the control center I get the following set of error messages:
** (gnome-control-center:32407): WARNING **: Ignoring launcher gufw (missing desktop file)

** (gnome-control-center:32407): WARNING **: Ignoring launcher landscape-client-settings (missing desktop file)

** (gnome-control-center:32407): WARNING **: Ignoring launcher ubuntuone-installer (missing desktop file)
The source of the problem must be the interface between Ubuntu 16.04 and fvwm, since when I use the ubuntu desktop manager, I don’t have the problem, and when I was using Ubuntu 14.04, I didn’t get the problem in fvwm.

Thanks for any advice!

I found the answer to my question: In ubuntu 16.04, the command unity-control-center does what gnome-control-center did in 14.04
