unable detect mouse

hello everybody

       i am working  fvwm95-2.0.4a(i can upgrade) on linux-2.4.21
       when i start it my mouse will not be detected i tried 
  serial mouse , ps2, and usb mouse
  but still no sucess

can any body help me

That is not the Job of fvwm but of X, you should look for an error there.
