I am looking for a good place to find buttons and other pixmaps for FvwmButtons and the minimize/maximize etc buttons.
Anyone know some good resources?
fvwm.org/screenshots/vectorbuttons/ – has a list of vectors
wm-icons.sf.net – for the same thing.
As for pixmaps, see any icon library set out there – there’s been several mentioned on the forums here in the past.

You could also try to make them yourself… with gimp for example. 
How? Just by using the pensel or are there specific options in gimp that covers this?
Try some of the Gnome/KDE theme sites and dissect the themes there. Keep the license in mind if you redistribute anything though.
